This role offers the flexibility of remote work; however, the candidate must travel to Wallops Island once or twice a month. Please note that travel expenses will not be reimbursed.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead small software development projects using agile methods to develop applications within the IIS/AWS framework, as well as developing in the SharePoint environment.
  • Plan and coordinate execution of software development activities to include requirements elicitation, development of schedules, documenting designs, coding, debugging, testing, and facilitating user acceptance.
  • Establish standard operating procedures for software development activities.
  • AWS Cloud Administration: will manage the AWS environment (EC2, S3, Amazon CLI, CloudWatch, etc.) as well as act as a server admin as needed to support the servers, verify STIG settings, IIS, and SQL database.
  • Optimize existing web applications and ensure applications comply with the Department of Defense.
  • Application Development: Support application and system development which includes C# .Net, SharePoint, Angular, Node.js, JavaScript, CSS, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, etc., as well as supporting legacy applications in ASP.Net.

 

Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Web Design, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Two years' relevant experience such as web, Intranet, and MS SharePoint design, demonstrated experience in secure web design, MS SharePoint administration and workflow, HTML, VB Script, XML, JavaScript, XHMTL, MS SQL, C++, or C#.
  • Prior experience with Linux is desired.
  • Four additional years of experience in those development areas (web design, SharePoint, etc.) may substitute for the bachelor’s degree.
  • A Masters in Web Design, Computer Science, or a related discipline will substitute for two years of the relevant experience requirement noted above.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registration

  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification, such as Security+ CE.

 

Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance highly desired however candidates who are eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance will be considered. If the selected candidate does not hold an active clearance, he/she will receive a contingent offer. A start date will be established once an interim Secret clearance is granted.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations once a month.
  • Must maintain the capability to communicate with their supervisor and/or manager when not in the office.
