Description

The HM&E Engineer will design, develop, and evaluate the operation of marine vessels' hull, mechancal, and electrical systems. May, also supervise the installation of moderately complex ship construction, machinery and related equipment pertaining to shipboard HM&E systems, and ensures requirements are defined and met according to specifications.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide the requisite marine engineering knowledge, skills, abilities, education and experience to perform HM&E tasks.

  • Provide Hull, Mechanical & Electrical Systems Analysis (HM&E) all-source engineering, research & analysis and production support.

  • Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.

 

Required Qualifications 

Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or a related engineering field with demonstrated applicability to integrated shipboard machinery installations (e.g. naval architecture, ocean engineering, mechanical / electrical engineering) from an accredited university.

 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in marine engineering or a related engineering field with demonstrated applicability to integrated shipboard machinery installations (e.g. naval architecture, ocean engineering, mechanical / electrical engineering) from an accredited university.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience with shipboard HM&E Projects.
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, 3D modeling, Finite Element Analysis.
  • Ability and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Work independently (with minimal supervision) or on project teams.
  • Strong communication, written and documentation skills.
  • Be able to multi-task in high stress situations.
  • Extensive attention to detail, ability to multi-task and the drive to take ownership in one’s work.

  • Ride Control/Stabilization Systems and Controls
  • Electric Power Generation and Distribution Systems and Controls
