    The Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops Island, VA requires support for management, engineering, operation, and technical expertise in support of the activation, operations, maintenance and engineering of equipment, systems and computer programs in support of all NAVSEA and PEO IWS missions supported by SCSC.  The SCSC provides live and simulated integrated warfare capabilities in a net-centric, maritime environment to develop, test, evaluate and conduct fleet operations and training for the warfighter.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide support to include receiving, processing and reporting the status of requisitions, requisition maintenance, managing inventories and commodities, storing material, and issuing material.
    • Provide support services to all Navy programs and projects at SCSC to include: warehouse operations, transportation, procurement support, repair parts management, hazardous material management, plant and minor property management, depot level repairable management, database management of Relational Supply system, and preventative maintenance checks of eye wash stations.
    • Prepare emergency requisitions, expedite requisitions, or upgrade priorities in support of government review and approval.
    • Maintain the inventory management of repair parts, depot level repairable, hazardous material, consumables, plant and minor property, historical items and other items in the custody of the SCSC Supply Officer.
    • Provide life cycle management of hazardous materials, from submission of requirements to ordering, storage, issue, turn-in of excess, and process for disposal in accordance with OPNAV instructions.
    • Identify, maintain, and recommend sources of supply for items requisitioned or researching and cataloging support.
    • Maintain a reference library for government use of catalogs, manuals, Military and Federal Specifications and Standards, and DLSC publications.


    Required Qualifications

    • Must have 11 years or more of logistics experience
    • Must have 6 years of managerial experience to include 5 years with Federal Government Logistics programs.
    • Must have a masters degree in Logistics or a related field from an accreditied educational institution.
    • Proven ability to lead and direct challenging projects and execute assignments independently.
    • Demonstrated experience managing warehouse operations is required to include shipping and receiving, warehousing, delivery, inventory, and procurement.

    Security Requirements:

    • Must have an active secret security clearance to start work.
    • Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.
