    Career Opportunity

    We currently seeking candidates for our Senior Network Administrator position in our Washington, DC Navy Yard station. The Senior Network Administrator is at the forefront of deploying new technologies. This position is responsible for the day to day duties including maintaining of current systems, including Active Directory, AHV, and Remote Access, as well as taking an active role in architecting and implementing enterprise wide solutions and advising on escalations from other team members.

    Responsibilities

    • Participates in the development and improvement of company technology services.
    • Involved in all phases of test system design, including requirements generation, hardware design, software development and system integration.
    • Monitors internal network and operations.
    • Troubleshoots and repairs system operations accordingly.
    • Evaluates internal and on-site hardware and software, including output and telecommunications equipment.
    • Manage Enterprise-class Backup and Restoration System of production data – File systems, AD, SQL, etc.
    • Works on assignments and special projects that promote the successful enhancement of
    • the company operation systems.
    • Interacts daily with supervisor and peer groups to gain knowledge of latest technologies available.
    • Provide ad hoc user training as required to help end users effectively utilize computer systems.
    • Coordinates selection and purchase of data processing hardware and software for
    • T-Solutions.
    • Explore and possibly implement new technologies to automate tasks related to client workstations and/or servers.
    • Implement backup routine for all networked computer systems.
    • Provide maintenance of specialized software programs.
    • Deploy corporate applications via a central solution for standardization and efficiency.
    • Implement and manage server-based applications used to update workstations and servers, control and monitor Internet traffic and other network management applications.
    • Monitor various system logs for problems or unusual behavior.
    • Update and maintain server operating systems.
    • Designs and implements various projects.
    • Manage records created and received in compliance with the Records Management Policy and Procedures.
    • Responsible for maintaining a general awareness of Safety and Security Plan.
    • Quantify decisions with solid reasoning and justification.
    • Maintains awareness of advances in information technology and recommend modifications to systems as required.

     

    This position includes a low level of travel.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    A high school diploma or GED equivalent and an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Systems or a related field. 3+ years of IT experience, system administration supporting Windows Server network environment. Experience with networking protocols, particularly TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP; knowledge of server hardware and troubleshooting skills are essential; knowledge of data storage systems and virtualization is desirable; experience in server backup technologies; Palo Alto, Juniper and Cisco experience is a plus; cloud services such as Office 365 and networking experience including: IP addressing, NAT, VLAN and troubleshooting.

    Qualifications

    • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
    • Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations
    • Must be a US Citizen
    • Must possess an active Secret clearance or obtain a Secrete clearance and retain an active clearance and pass additional background screening for base access.
    • Demonstrates in depth knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and server hardware is essential.
    • Demonstrates in depth knowledge of backup applications.
    • Possesses experience working with VMware or AHV, and the ability to install, configure and troubleshoot server operating systems, software, and related hardware is required.
    • Possesses ability to quickly identify problems and implement solutions with minimal downtime.
    • Must be able to lead a team or work independently as required.
    • Broad understanding of Windows operating systems and SQL, Office 365, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DMZ, Clustering and file servers.
    • Demonstrates a broad understanding of WAN/LAN communications as well as, Configuration, Migration and Upgrades.
    • Understands shared storage (SAN/NAS/HCI environments).
    • Demonstrates the ability to utilize software and hardware diagnostic tools to identify, diagnose and repair complex problems and factors affecting systems performance.
    • Must be able to maintain flexibility to perform several engineering tasks at one time unsupervised.
    • Familiarity with NIST 800-171 is a plus.
