    Career Opportunity

    We are currently seeking candidates for a Metrics and Data Analyst at our Chesapeake, VA office. The Metrics and Data Analyst supports the Port Engineering program in collecting, organizing, mining, developing and displaying data.



    • Collects, organizes and creates actionable reports for specified performance metric data in support of both internal and external business partners.
    • Graphically displays the data as a series of data points by ships’ homeport, showing the progress of each data point over time.
    • Ensures metrics reports will are run weekly for two one month periods annually; once in January and June.
    • Prepares various presentations as required.
    • Creates clear, vivid visualizations of data sets.
    • Produces high-quality user interfaces and visual designs in support of the data and metrics provided.
    • Collaborates closely with managers, engineers and business stakeholders.
    • Presents ideas and designs effectively, leads design review and feedback sessions.
    • Collects and consistently leverages design feedback to improve designs and design process.
    • Commissions and employs end-user research and user metrics.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.


    This position includes a low level of travel.


    Education and Experience

    A high school diploma or GED equivalent. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, candidates must have five years of related experience.



    • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
    • Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
    • Possess advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
    • Proficient in using Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visio and possess knowledge and ability with other data display applications
    • Possess ability to collect, organize and create actionable reports
    • Must be detail-oriented with a focus on quality and consistency
    • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaborates with multiple individuals and teams in the company
    • Possess experience owning and driving projects to completion
    • Is able to communicate concepts and complex ideas to various audiences at different levels of the organization
    • Must be organized and able to prioritize while working on multiple projects
