    Career Opportunity

    We are currently seeking candidates for a Payroll Specialist position in our Chesapeake, VA office. The Payroll Specialist will work with the finance team to ensure accurate and efficient processing of the company’s payroll.


    • Processes paperwork for new employees and enters employee information into the payroll system.
    • Compiles employee time, and payroll data from time sheets and other records.
    • Computes wages and deductions in the payroll system.
    • Reviews time sheets, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
    • Processes and issues employee paychecks to include statements of earnings and deductions.
    • Aides in the processing of accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc).
    • Aides in processing all payroll taxes to include reconciliation, filing, and payment.
    • Develops financial and operational reporting as needed.
    • Responds to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns.

    Education and Experience

    • Associates Degree in a relevant discipline (accounting, finance, business administration, etc.)
    • 2 years of previous experience with payroll functions
    • Associates Degree may be substituted for a Graduate Certificate in a relevant discipline and 5 years of experience with payroll.
    • A high school diploma or GED equivalent and 5 years of experience with payroll may be substituted in lieu of a college degree.



    Desired Qualifications

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV is desired
    • Demonstrates ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
