    Career Opportunity

    We are currently seeking candidates for a Proposal Manager to support our Corporate team. The Proposal Manager will oversee and drive all activities involved in the development and revision of proposals. They will partner with the Business Development Team to compose compelling, compliant, and persuasive proposals by leading and participating in the myriad proposal development activities. They will guide proposal team members and assist them in understanding and execution of the proposal development tasks they are assigned. The Proposal Manager acts as a liaison with various departments to coordinate pricing, contracts, teaming agreements, and all other activities as needed to deliver complete proposals to our clients on time.

    Responsibilities

    • Leads and enforces industry best practice-based processes and procedures for proposal development to include the development of a proposal plan to provide direction to the pursuit team
    • Responsible for managing the proposal through the opportunity life cycle from draft RFP release to post-proposal submission activities, thereby leading, planning, scheduling, overseeing an actively participating in the proposal development for large-scale Federal business opportunities
    • Gathers information by interviewing and brainstorming with Subject Matter Experts or collecting their written inputs and providing feedback on additional information required.
    • Ensures deadlines are met by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval.
    • Monitors and tracks responses to data calls and section completion status.
    • Fills information gaps through independent research and adaptation of boilerplate materials.
    • Writes, rewrites, and edits various proposal sections and conceptualize or modify graphical representations of the material in the form acceptable for rendering by the graphic artist.
    • Coordinates with Subject Matter Experts to ensure technical accuracy of the drafted sections and graphics.
    • Edits proposals and related documents for completeness, compliance, and persuasion.
    • Leads all relevant proposal meetings, such as the kickoff, brainstorming, and color review debriefs.
    • Address and enact reviewers’ comments and recommendations for improvement.
    • Follows proposal writing best practices, including accuracy, readability, consistency, and tone.
    • Improves future proposals by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate, and implementing changes.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree
    • A minimum of 5 years proven successful experience managing, writing, and coordinating Federal Government proposals of moderate to high complexity
    • Experience working with proposal teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment supporting critical business development activities
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and managerial skills
    • The ability to use standard English writing styles and structures to write proposal sections; this includes the ability to research and synthesize information from multiple sources (subject matter experts, previous proposals) into a cohesive, easy-to-read, and persuasive final product
    • Ability to balance multiple projects and work to meet deadlines
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint

    Qualifications

    • U.S. Citizenship required.

     

    Certificates, Licenses, Registration

    • APMP Foundation-level Certification or Shipley training desired.
